Awards, honors, in the news, and things that make us happy
At the 2025 Texas Chapter of the Wildlife Society Conference, Alexander Hoxie, a master’s student in the Mathewson Lab was presented with the Clarence Cottam Award. This prestigious award is given each year for outstanding graduate student presentation. Alex’s presentation, was titled “Addressing Assumptions of Nonlethal Monitoring of Microplastic Contamination in House Sparrow Nestlings”.
Our Tarleton Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society won the Student Chapter of the Year award from The Wildlife Society! We don’t like to brag but we will this time about our amazing students and all that they give back through the chapter. They also won Student Chapter of The Year from Texas Chapter of The Wildlife Society the last 2 years in a row!! Congratulations Chloe, Lili, Hannah, and the other officers and members!
